Ymca Georgia Mountains

I’m looking for a YMCA camp in North Georgia mountains? Something about Raggers? Icebox? Georgia mountains?

Ok this is a long shot here. I went to a YMCA camp in the North Georgia mountains when I was a kid. I’m in my late 30’s now so this might be hard to find. I remember something about wearing different color rags. Something about raggers. Also their was this really cold pond that we called the Icebox. We went hiking, canoeing and other typical camping stuff. If anyone can help me find an address and contact info about this wonderful camp I would really appreciate it.

I went to Young Harris College a couple of years ago and there was somewhere along the way on 515, a YMCA structure of sorts, but I didn’t really take note of where it was. I just know that it was between Blairsville and Coweta. There are tons of trails in this area, a protected part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but I don’t know if this is the same area. It is next to Lake Chatuge.

Just south is Blueridge and Lake Blueridge. It is a large town compared to Young Harris so they may have a YMCA camp there.

We had a really cold little swimming hole near YHC too, but we called it “Cupid’s” (I wonder why) and I doubt it’s the same as your Icebox. You may also want to look toward the Lake Burton area and Helen GA area that is to the west.

Sounds like a weekend adventure to me. Good luck with your search!
