Virender Sehwag’s History and a glimpse of his cricket records.
Virender Sehwag is one of the brilliant cricketers of the Indian Cricket team. He is a miraculous bowler basher! Virender being called as ‘viru’ was born on 20th of Oct 1978 and is a resident of Delhi, but hailed from Haryana, India. He got wedded to Arthi Alhawal in April 2004 and has a son who was born on Oct 18, 2007. Sehwag was born to a grain merchant and he grew up in a joint family. He has two sisters and a younger brother. He did his schooling from “Arora Vidya School’’ in Delhi. He always forced his parents to let him play the game he adored the most – Cricket. Sehwag is fondly referred to in the media as the “Nawab of Najafgarh”, Najafgarh being his home locality in Delhi. Sehwag is a pure vegetarian. He followed the footsteps of his role model Sachin Tendulkar. Sehwag also does charity work for UNICEF. Sehwag basically known for the aggressive batting and hard hitter of cricket ball. He likes to hit every ball which he plays. When he played cricket he much felt like Sachin himself playing cricket. The shots which he would play to off drive, on drive, straight drive and flick would look as if Sachin is batting at that end. Sehwag is an astounding right handed opening batsman of India cricket team and an intermittent right arm off spin bowler.
Sehwag started playing cricket from his childhood. His father’ support was also with him. Sehwag made his debut for Delhi Cricket team in first class cricket in the 1997-98 season then he was selected to the North Zone cricket team for the Duleep Trophy following with 1998-99 season. That year he was fourth on the Duleep Trophy run scoring list, including a 274, and it was top score of that tournament. He played brilliant knock against Punjab in Ranji Trophy and then he was selected for the under-19 team, national team which toured South Africa. He made many runs at the starting and stood seventh in 2000-01 season with two centuries in the scoring list. His performance earned to make the selectors as a regular member of the national team. Although he was playing for India cricket, he continued to play for his home team Delhi in the domestic cricket and had many victories under his belt.

The 3rd test match between India and Sri Lanka that was held on the 2nd of Dec 09 was one of the best matches of Sehwag. It was our cricket India Hero who hit more than double century on a single day. He successfully scored 293 runs just was backed by 7 runs to hit the triple century on a single day of his cricket history. Sehwag is a boon for the Indian cricket team!!
