Tendulkar 200

Has Sachin Tendulkar achieved everything to be honoured as best citizen of this country?

Bharat Ratna (Hindi: भारत रत्न, translates to Jewel of India or Gem of India in English) is India’s highest civilian award, awarded for the highest degrees of national service. This service includes artistic, literary, and scientific achievements, as well as “recognition of public service of the highest order.”

Describing Sachin Tendukar as ‘Kohinoor’ of cricket, former captains Kapil Dev and Ajit Wadekar on Thursday said the milestone man should be conferred Bharat Ratna – India’s highest civilian award.

Are these records his ultimate achievements or he is still to achieve more?
Is it too early to say that considering he has yet to play for some more years?

If Sachin is not one of the jewels of India, how can others be ?

While I agree that he is a Bharat Ratna, I want this honour to be conferred on him after he hangs his boots permanently. During his playing times, let him be a player and a keen competitor.

We all know at what age Lataji got her Bharat Ratna. All along she was a Bhrat Ratna, even in 1950s but she got it after she practically withdrew from the rat race.
