So the judge blocked parts of SB1070, what does this now mean?
I’m a proud american living in Arizona. The law in every way shape and form mirrored federal law. So maybe it was a little more strict, we need it to be. Come to Phoenix, kidnapping capitol of the US if you dont believe me. It should have been passed in its entirety. What do you think will happen now? WIll it stands as is? Will anything change in Arizona? What is your overall viewpoint on the topic? Do the supporters of SB1070 now have to do as the opposers did and unite?
Judge Bolton did offer Arizona some leeway to make immigration law.
She ruled that the law’s purpose – “to discourage and deter the unlawful entry and presence and economic activity by” illegal immigrants – is constitutional. “The Arizona legislature is free to express its viewpoint and intention as it wishes.”
Did you read that everyone—-IS CONSTITUTIONAL.
This is an injunction until it goes to trial. Nothing has been lost or won at this point.
