Madrid Itinerary

Going to Europe for two weeks, how is my itinerary?

Hello,

I had the chance to study in Spain a few years back, and ever since I got home, I have been longing a return. I currently reside in CA, but will be back east for xmas, and I figured that it would be more feasable to visit Europe after xmas, while I am already closer. I am staying for 15 nights, and really want to make the most of my time, while doing as much as possible. Here are my plans. Please let me know what I should, or shouldnt do.

Boston – London 12/27 Virgin Atlantic Non Stop $240

London (3 nights)

London to Paris (Train)

Paris (5 nights)

Paris to Madrid (Flight)
Madrid to Seville (Train)

Seville (5 nights)

Seville to Dublin (Flight)

Dublin (2nights)

Dublin to LAX Non Stop Aer Lingus $375 Sat Jan 12th

It is a reasonable itinerary; I can fathom the reason for the Seville to Dublin leg, fare availability.

London: Take a bus or walking tour. Visit the Tower, London Bridge (go inside), and if you can find it, the pub “Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese” on Fleet Street. See the URL, middle of article. You cannot get very close to #10 Downing anymore. The London “Eye”, a very large Ferris Wheel is supposed to afford excellent views of the city. Also if you have time and can find it (shouldn’t be hard), go to the Monument (there is a tube stop there adjoining the Bank stop) and climb it. That’s all it is called, Monument. It is a monument to the fire in 1666 that destroyed most of the city.

Paris: Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, are obvious, but also try the Catacombs and there is a section of the sewer that functions as a museum. I know, it is strange but worth while. See if you can find a “walking tour”, these are usually very good.

Can’t help with Madrid, but you’ve been to Spain before so should have no problem there.

Dublin, go to any pub and relax. You’ll be worn out by then!

Nice trip. Dress warmly.
