Madrid Granada By Train

In Spain, should I book train and bus tickets in advance for traveling from one city to another?

I will be in spain in 8-17 (Sep.). I want to go from Madrid to Malaga by train, from Malaga to Granada by Bus, and from Madrid to Barcelona by train. I wonder if tickets are available for buying in the station (or the tickets are usually sold out) and how many hours earlier I should buy the tickets from the station (can I buy them about 1 hour before the departure time).

Here is a website in English for the train timetable. You can book your seats online in advance. The website will tell you which trains have seats available.

For your travel by bus to Granada I would buy the tickets on the day. It is a good bus station in Málaga. The bus station and rail station are close to each other. It is just a 5 minute walk between the two. If the bus to Granada from Málaga is full, get the bus from Málaga to Torre Del Mar and then the bus from there to Granada. It will take longer but going through the mountains will be spectacular. Having said that, there is just one bus a day that way.
How are you travelling back to Madrid. There is an airport at Granada with regular flights to Madrid. Granada airport is my favourite. It is small and stress free.
Enjoy.
