On Ellen Degeneres show, what is the background of the “What?” phrase she often uses?
Did the exaggerated “WHAT?” comment originate as a spoof on the famous country star’s (can’t remember name) comment when Carrie Underwood was chosen for Best Female Singer of the Year a couple of years ago? I remember Ellen showing that clip of the candid reaction, and laughing about it. Is that when it all started for her to frequently use that reaction on her show? If so, I think it’s pretty funny! Anyone know?
