Why did the W. Virginia torture make it to Yahoo but not the Christian/Newsom murder story?

Now, first, i’m black. I’m married to a non-black so i’m on both sides of the fences so to speak. Now, it bothers me that the West Virginia torture story (which sickens me to the bone) has gotten national attention, however, the brutal rape, torture and murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom didn’t. These two were raped (yes, the man as well), tortured (the man’s penis was cut off and the woman’s breast was cut off) and murdered (shot several times and set on fire) by five black people (if they should even be called that).

My question is twofold: Why didn’t the story about the white couple make national news and how does this affect race relations in America?

It is affecting us the same way Jena Louisiana is. It’s dividing us. The thing is, this should not be a race issue. This is a human issue. All of these people were tortured beyond anything most of us could imagine. Yet America is up in arms because of Michael Vick and some stinkin’ dogs. Don’t get me wrong, I believe what Vick did was deplorable, but human life is precious, no matter what color you are. Unfortunately this leaves us divided and vulnerable to the terrorists who want nothing more than to do away with all Americans. They see us turning against each other and use it to their advantage. Divide and conquer, you know? Well we are already doing a great job of the dividing part ourselves. I don’t understand why the white couple didn’t make the news. I do know there is a specially hot place in hell reserved for the vermin that did this to them. These stories remind me of things I see on Cold Case Files or Forensic Files. People are depraved and have no respect for human life. Yet, they will be the main ones using up hard earned tax-payer dollars with all their appeals to get them off death row. My heart and prayers go out to these families. And for the perpetrators, fry ‘em.
