how do I get the number to the local bank of america branch?
NOT the main 1-800 type number. I actually need to speak to a live person who works in a real building in my neighborhood. Even when I look up the branch number (at any of the 3 addresses near my house), getting what LOOKS like a local number, it connects me to the main ATM/telephone banking number.

Unfortunately you will need to go into one of them and ask to talk to a manager or another associate that can assist you with your current need. The phone lines (accept those that go directly to an office desk) are mostly tied together to automated systems. It is a bit of an annoyance, but if you can get in and at least get a card from them; it will usually have that direct number on it. Or you can ask them for it. Good luck!
