bank accounts in the military?
i was talking to a friend and she was telling me about opening up a bank account when i join the military. i haven’t left for my basic training yet and i was thinking of opening up an account with bank of america until i heard about opening an account with the military. i dont know anything such as the name of the bank or whatever but i heard the benefits of having a military bank account is better.
can someone please enlighten me on this if there is even such a thing lol
USAA is an awesome bank to have. You can do just about everything through USAA. When you have a bank account with USAA, you’ll be given a discount on your auto insurance if you get a USAA policy. USAA also has preferred auto dealerships that will offer you deals on new and used autos at prices you just can’t beat. Try and stay away from the banks and credit unions on post. My husband used to have an account with Ft Hood’s bank which is a branch of 1st Natl Bank. If you don’t use their ATMs, they charge for the ATM fee and then a service charge.
The great thing about USAA is that you can use whatever ATM you want in they will pay you back whatever you had to pay in service charges with another ATM. The reason why they do this is because there are so many USAA customers and not enough ATMs worldwide…so they flip the bill and give you back your money you were charged.
