Is there any Hawaiian bank with close relationships with mainland US banks?
I am moving to Honolulu this summer from Mainland, but will be traveling regularly to mainland US. I notice the traditional mainland banks (e.g. BofA, WFB, USbank, etc) do not operate in Hawaii. Any suggestion on which bank to choose? are there Hawaiian banks which waive ATM transaction fees while in mainland? Any hawaii bank with close ties to Bank of America? What is the best hawaiian bank fee-speaking?
ING does. Wells Fargo has a few branches but they are only loan offices, no ATMs.
If you bank reimburses ATM fees there, they will reimburse them here too.
I would avoid Bank of Hawaii and Central Pacific Bank, the fees are high.
American Savings Bank and First Hawaiian tend to be the most reasonable.
